Day +12

Monday, October 21: Not as eventful of a night. Small win! As normal protocol, the nursing staff comes in throughout the day/night to do vitals, administer meds and draw blood. This is no longer eventful as it is all part of the process of making sure everything is going as planned and that anything out of the norm is being addressed. Platelets: 3 Hemo: 7 Fevers continued throughout the night so not able to get platelets first thing so they administered the red blood and once the next shift arrived they administered the platelets. Cultures from yesterday came back as a bacteremia so they are continuing the antibiotic, Vancomycin. The cultures will need to be studied for additional days to see if anything grows. Able to sit up a bit today, not able to walk but at this point, sitting up is a small win!
