Day +15

Thursday, October 24: No fever for approx 12+ hours. What a nice feeling. Definitely affects the energy level and more able to sit up for an extended period of time. Win for the morning! Platelets: 2 Hemo: 6.3 WBC: went down to less than .10. Doctors mentioned that this could happen and not to be alarmed. Sounds like they are busy getting to work somewhere else in the bone marrow. Got platelets and then red early in the morning, perhaps that is also helping w/energy level. Using a new device to suction out any unwanted fluids in the mouth. Game changer! Showered without assistance even with all of the swelling. Was able to eat another marionberry danish and oatmeal today. They’ve increased the lasix dosage to help get more fluids out as inflammation has increased and weight also by more than 5 pounds overnight. They have transitioned most of the meds to pill form reducing the amount of fluid that accompanies each med once they flush it through the picc line. It’s probably a good thing they are transitioning as there is a shortage of IV saline due to the Baxter facility damage due Hurricane Helene. Bet you never imagined what impact a hurricane could have on healthcare?!?!?!

Danish?
