Day +6
Oops, another big win that we forgot to mention yesterday is that our Nurse, Bradley is from Maui. What a great way to be connected with the island and share stories. Not only that, but he is very interested in food and happens to be Filipino so the conversations about food, baking and filipino pastries have been very engaging. Big win!
If the photo doesn’t say it, the weather is not quite what it has been. Definitely feels like the PNW, however, the fog should clear in a bit. They say baby steps…..take it one step at a time and one day at a time. Again, another morning hooked up to machines getting IV fluids. It’s times like this that you realize how much even a drink of water is taken for granted. Platelets were 4, and hemoglobin 6.8, so needless to say, transfusion was needed again this am. Good thing there are two ports in the picc line as they are able to administer the IV fluids while still giving platelets and then later, the red blood. One thing that we have learned from this whole process is that Stem Cell patients require a lot of blood. Thank you to all of you who donate blood!!
