Day +7
Wednesday, October 16: IV blood draw due to fevering all throughout the night. Platelets: 7 Hemoglobin: 7.1, received platelets around 3:00am. Fever high again after platelets so another blood draw was needed to see if it was a reaction to the platelets. Up all night in the bathroom, definitely feeling the side effects of the chemo. Definitely messes with the gut. Swollen left eye, could also be a reaction to the platelets, skin very dark in areas. Still on a limited clear liquid diet so jello was the meal of choice in the middle of the night. Realized that popsicles are better. Abdominal pain all throughout the night. So much coming out of one end that an undigested pill showed up in the toilet. Mystery is, which one was it…there are lots to consider…Pain and sensitivity in hands and feet, it was like road rash and like feet were scraped on the asphalt. Potentially a side effect of the Bulsulfan, as per the doctors.
