Day +8
Thursday, October 17: Received another transfusion in the middle of the night, both platelets and hemoglobgin. Platelets: 6, Hemo: 6.1. Continuous abdominal pain throughout the night. Used heating pad, which is actually a machine that runs water into a pad and heats it to a certain temperature. Due to fevers all night again, more labs were drawn to rule out infection. Graduated from an all liquids diet to a “bland” diet. Meal of choice was chicken broth w/chicken & rice, was hoping it could be more like arrozcaldo, but not even close. First of all, basmati rice is what they served. Ate about half, not very interested in food as the gut is hurting. No dinner, but ate a grape popsicle while attached to what they call “Christmas lights”. Only awake enough to use the bathroom, otherwise sleeping mostly all day, in between vitals being taken every 4 hours unless fever spikes and then temperature is taken more often.
